Are more expensive hair products worth the price?

I have normal-dry curly hair. And I keep it short (I am a guy). So I was shopping for a better shampoo, conditioner, or treatment. Somebody recommended Paul Mitchell. Any bottle with that name on it seems to cost at least 4-5 times of a household brand like Garnier Fructis.
My question is: for those with personal experience with expensive/professional hair products, is it worth it to pay for the extra?

Some are worth it, others are total crap. My fav professional products are anything Aveda. Paul Mitchell isn’t my cup of tea, its alright but nothing spectacular. Bed head is also okay. If you want something cheap….Try Aussie Deeeeep 3 minute miracle conditioner (purple bottle). It’s better than most of the expensive conditioners I’ve tried and its dirt cheap like 3 bucks and is perfect for dry hair.

Yes and no. Some products do work really well while others are just name brands. Even with the cheap, knock-off brands. For example suave, they sell theyre ‘matrix’ compared products for dirt cheap to make money and i must say they work for crap. Try differnt products to find one you truly like.
Yes you get what you pay for. You need to figure out which one works best for your hair though. Try Joico or Biolage also, they both work great. I use Bumble and Bumble and love it to death! It is a little more expensive though.. for a shampoo and conditioner plan on spending $50.00.

Oh yes, I use biolage shampoo and conditioner, and I must say I get the cleanest feeling and the softest hair. I would never go back to using pantene or cheap drugstore brands! Terrible terrible!
